Despite the outstanding products promoted by world-class stars, the number of users visiting the online store and sales conversion were not satisfactory for the owners.

The main goal set by the client was increasing the sales and reaching new customers for Philo New York online store.

The initial situation we faced required many improvements in a short period of time, as the customer has been abandoned by the former marketing company, which left them with several bugs and problems preventing Philo online store from functioning the way it should. Procurement system did not function properly, payments often failed or were processed with inaccurate information, and, on the top of all that, customers were not getting notifications about the status of their purchases.

RWD = mobile first

We undertook Responsive Web Design approach to re-design Philo online shop to ensure it looks good on all devices (desktops, tablets, and phones). The approach uses CSS and HTML to resize, hide, shrink, enlarge, or move the content to make it look good on any screen.

The approach of laying-out and coding a website such that the website provides an optimalviewing experience — ease of reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling — across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones).

Responsive web design is becoming more important as the amount of mobile traffic now accounts for more than half of total internet traffic. This trend is so prevalent that Google has begun to boost the ratings of sites that are mobile friendly if the search was made from a mobile device. This has the net effect of penalizing sites that are not mobile friendly..

Project implementation

At the beginning of cooperation we recommended to transfer the store to Shoplo platform, as the previous contractor installed the shop on RoR e-commerce without the necessary consultation with the client. The owner could not edit any element of the store, and, as things stood, had no chance to run and make profit from the online business.

We presented to the customers a wide range of of Shoplo capabilities, along with its user friendliness and convenience of such actions as content edition and products addition . Another element of our cooperation , the decision was made to relocate the store. Another struggle the customer faced regarded the archaic graphics, which did not reflect the prestige of Philo New York and its products.The idea of new, rebranded graphic design and moving the store to Shoplo platform was accepted by client and was a major step in building the mutual trust between our parties.

Another stage of our cooperation involved improvement of the whole logistic and procurement processes, from the time, placement, through its implementation until, ending with communication with end-users and purchase satisfaction surveys.

We have developed an efficient and friendly way to communicate with users, taking advantage of the tools at Shoplo’s disposal. Such elements as communication in social media and continuous e-commerce development and frequent Shoplo administration trainings for Philo team we also a part of our comprehensive and widespread cooperation, which led the customer to increase sales and onlineshop visits.
